A Guru is a torchbearer to His disciples. The Guru always inspires His disciples. A disciple may lose heart; the sadhana is not really easy. However, if one can obtain the blessings of the Guru, who is the ocean of kindness, it will become easier for a disciple to go on the path of sadhana, Tapas.
