Question: Baba has said that during tapas Swamiji gave techniques for the complete eradication of the ego. Could you please discuss these techniques with us?

Babaji:

First thing, you will have to have faith and surrender. Surrender means the same thing, do not try to mentally imagine anything that happens. Just keep watching as a witness. Don’t relate yourself to that experience. It’s only a thing that you will have to watch, so that it gets evaporated and the minds recedes. Even the imagination of the existence of the Self is also recognized as ego in spiritual terms. This is the final ego, which will vanish just before samadhi. This will happen. But you have to surrender, mentally. This means, you do not think anything. You don’t bother, even if thoughts occur, even if any visions occur. If any experiences occur, do not try to define what it is. Mentally, you have to lose all imaginations. If the time is ripe, the mind, itself, will understand. The mind has to understand that it is imagining. The mind has to stop.

When you go deeper and deeper, the inner Guru will definitely help you. Until then, you try to surrender. Whenever a small thought occurs, just try to stop it. Do not give attention to the thought and your mind will stop. Because, the moment a thought occurs, the mind tries to analyze it, watches and gets involved into that thought. It recognizes the thought. It tries to define the thought. So do not recognize the thought. Do not recognize any experience that occurs, even its blissfulness, it's Divine’s Grace, or anything. No definition, nothing! And pray to Swamiji. Pray to the inner Guru to bless you, for this to happen.
