Firstly it gives increased mental concentration so that you can do your tasks better, more efficiently. Also because the brain is necessary to function in this world, when the mind is applied on the brain then we can do our tasks. If the mind is controlled, then you can be like a genius in this world. Thirdly it will enable you to control your emotions better and you can keep cool in your dealings in the world, keeping the emotions controlled. It is the emotions going out of control that trouble us.
