Question: What is your view on the use of music or concentration on the breathing to help with meditation. If one finds it difficult to do it for a long time as we have done today without anything.
Babaji:
The music can always be helpful if you can play. You see music if it is soothing, if it can be non-violent, beautiful rhythmic music that can always be helpful in meditation. You can adopt all such natural methods which are conducive for soothing effect to the mind is always welcome before or after meditation. Initially for sometime during meditation also you can play some music and listen to it. But eventually, gradually afterwards you must give the mind a practice to remain quiet in silence. That is the ultimately recommended thing. So silence is the best thing finally. Before that you can always use. So that it is helpful in achieving concentration, warming up, like the breathing exercises are also there. That will also be helpful in concentration and the mind getting receded a little bit. So that it warms up eventually to go into meditation.
