Question: You have spoken earlier of 'necessary things' and 'unnecessary things'. Can You please speak more about that?
Babaji:
You will have a way of life. For instance you need to work - but what is unnecessary is anxiousness, confusion. Like on a battlefield, what is unnecessary is anxiousness and confusion. What is necessary is to act well. The mind likes to brood on the past or be anxious about the future. These are unnecessary.
Gradually as we practice meditation, we gain more control over the mind. When we need to think, we can think. When there is no need to think then we can bring the mind back and rest it. Some people complain they have worries and difficulties. This is unnecessary. But if you work and plan and put in efforts, then you can discriminate and see what is necessary.
