Question: Could Babaji please discuss the six shapes of the mind a little more?
Babaji:
The ancient sages have seen that there are six different shapes that the mind can take. They named them as kama (extreme greed), krodha (anger), madha (false pride), lobha (stinginess), moha (attraction to material things) and matsarya (jealousy). These are the six extreme shapes that the mind can take on. Of these, perhaps matsarya is the most common.
Now in functioning in this world, it might, for instance, be necessary in some situations to show a little anger. It may be necessary to achieve some outcome. But, if it is too much, then you will harm yourself, and also those around you. So it is a matter that the mind should not take these on too much unnecessarily and get totally caught up in them.
In today's society anger is very common, too common as the mind is not controlled by the people. If one practices bhakti marga and meditation, one overcomes this anger.
