Question: Can you tell us something about your understanding of mental illness?

Mentally there can be several things, how the world is viewed, how the medical field diagnoses. If the brain is slightly handicapped or challenged, such a thing can cause a mental illness. There can be different terminologies medically. Otherwise spiritually, when the mind goes into its own imaginations and makes judgements of its own, that is also recognised as an illness. One can be hypnotising one's own self through this mind's imaginations and beliefs. Based on this only, one would visualise this world. If the mind has visualised itself and hypnotised itself, a good thing might appear as a bad and a bad thing might appear as good. So this is also a type of mental illness.
It is essential that the brain should be as healthy as possible. When you practice meditation, only then you can overcome the mind's illness. In fact, spiritually, if the mind is ill that is what is called viyoga, meaning ‘away from the Divinity'. Yoga means to go back to the origin, in union with God. That is the Yoga in its origin. If you practice meditation regularly, your mind can become the best and healthiest. You can overcome the stress, confusion, cravings, fear, all such things, and you would have the best of moral values to consider about each other. All these things would enhance your position. You can gain the best concentration of mind also. Like that, all the mind's illness can be overcome through this meditation practise.
