Dehradun, 20 Sep: It was a grand festive celebration at Shri Shivabalayogi Maharaj Ashram at 180-C Rajpur Road, Dehradun. The Ashram was celebrating the 65th birthday of its Spiritual Head, Shiva Rudra Balayogi Maharaj. Devotees from all over had gathered, including from Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and UK and a big group of 90 devotees from South India, not to mention the local regular devotees from the neighbouring states. All 13 Trustees of Shri Shivabalayogi Maharaj Trust have come to attend the celebrations. The programme started with Pada Puja by all the devotees on the evening of Thursday. This morning, there was a homa performed by the devotees from Malaysia, followed by a touching programme by a group of schoolchildren. Shri Baba has adopted two schools and regularly contributes from his own personal resources. The schoolchildren were gifted a sweater, each, prasadam, followed by lunch for all schoolchildren and devotees. Shri Baba, Rambabu, Amit Sachdev and Advocate Renu D Singh addressed the children on the importance of moral values, social and global responsibility, etc. The Ashram is running a small class with volunteer teachers for 9th, 10th and 11th standard students on a supplementary basis. This was formally inaugurated by the Bengaluru Trustees, named “Mata Parvathamma Vidhya Mandir”. Also a one-day blood donation camp was organised at the Ashram. The evening function was the grand finale well-attended by thousands of devotees. Bhajans and devotional songs were rendered, followed by emotional rendering of bhajans and Hanuman Chalisa sung by Shri Baba, which was the climax of the occasion. It was followed by a blessings message and cake-cutting ceremony by the Baba. The programme ended with darshan and blessings for all devotees including Prasad distribution and grand prasad. The Baba’s birthday is being celebrated all over the world by his devotees in Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, UK, USA and Bali (Indonesia).
