Mothers' Day Discourse, 2008
Perth, 11 May 2008
We seek refuge at His Lotus feet at all times. Being Mother's Day, may all the children of the Universal Mother be able to pay tributes. Master said, “Those who can be like the Universal Mother - who can become passionate, forgiving unconditionally, who can love and who can see that oneness everywhere - are the real mothers, they are the real humans.”
A great legendary story about the creation is there. It was born out of a simple, beautiful imagination of the Divine consciousness. There arose in the Divine an amazing potency of an enormous amount of imagination, consciousness and ferociously it became Maha Rudra. Along with that a great fire ball also came into existence. All the things that were being imagined went into this fire and got consumed so the Divine imagined that there shall be a mother - a mother for the universe, a mother for all creations, and it became in the Divine's consciousness' a most beautiful imagination. This consciousness also imagined that there shall be some Yogis. The moment they appear, they should not forget about themselves, and through them the prayers were offered to this fireball to take shape of a mother and give back the creation that was an imagination from the primordial OM. Thus came into existence Bhuvaneshshwari, Mother of the universe, Mother of all creations, the most beautiful of all the imaginations of the Divine consciousness.
The Divine consciousness willed that the rest of the imaginations shall always be creating troubles. Puzzled, Brahma prayed to the Divine consciousness, “Why do you want your creation to be troubled?” The Divine consciousness said, “Because my consciousness is compassionate, I love. I want all the consciousness that is going out of the Divinity to come back and settle in peace. I don't want them to be getting involved in this imagination of creation at all times, hence I have willed that this creation shall not allow any consciousness to settle in peace but force them to come back to Me, the Divinity that they are. And all these consciousness shall wonder one day, 'Who am I?' Until then this shall remain a great puzzle. Let them remember me, if they consider me a mother for them because I am compassionate, I love, I want to forgive them for going away from me. I want them to come back.” So that was how the Mother imagination came into existence. This was the beautiful story of the Divine's imagination that we heard from the Master.
So being Mother's Day, all of you resolve that you shall try to become like a mother, universal. Try to see that oneness everywhere. You will try to become compassionate, forgiving unconditionally. You will try to forget any unpleasantness in this world. And you shall not blame that Divine consciousness which has made its own creation troublesome at all times and not allowing any consciousness to settle in peace because that was the greatest, highest compassion of the Divine consciousness, being the Mother of all other consciousness of existence. So let us try to be mothers and let us try to pay tributes to our mothers at all times in this world and in the Divinity and everywhere.
I wish you all my love and greetings, my compassion and blessings at all times. May you all be inspired and blessed, forgiven by the Divinity that is within you and may you all be blessed for eternal peace and happiness.
