Question: Babaji, yesterday one of the bhajans (devotional songs) started 'dhum, dhum, dhum'. Can you explain, energetically, what this means? How repeating it can affect us?
Babaji:
It is connected to Lord Shiva, when He dances He makes the sound of the dhamaru (small drum) "dhum dhum, dhum" and also He sings "bhum, bhum bhum." So that is how the sound is traditionally connected.
Actually there are several concepts there. Shiva I have told already, is your existence in total thoughtlessness state.
So ultimately what is important during bhajans is, if you concentrate on the bhajans, it will be very much energetic, you will feel all your emotional energies getting tapped, and it will enhance the concentration of your meditation also.
