Question: What is the force that pulls the mind back to its Self?
Babaji:
That is the detachment, vairagya, with the firm conviction that this entire universe is illusion. That is why that theory is repeatedly taught by the Guru so that it can be fed into the mind, then only the mind comes back from this illusion, otherwise it will never give up this illusion. It is holding on to this illusion thinking with the conviction that, “This is the fundamental truth and this is going to give me that happiness, this is my security,” whereas all these three things are wrong. This is illusion, this is not going to give peace and happiness, and this is not our security; our own existence is the security. So by these teachings people will be able to go back.
